Takata recall i have made several attempts to have the airbags replaced at multiple ford dealerships since 2017, and have been unsuccessful in getting the repairs made. While backing out of a driveway with foot on the brake, the vehicle accelerated on its own and crashed into a dirt embankment. The gas pedal had not been touched since the vehicle had been started, but the vehicle accelerated forcefully enough to redline the engine and cause substantial body damage on impact.
