Vehicle's transmission becomes unable to upshift or downshift when needed. Difficult shifting during critical periods decelerating to a stop & accelerating after coming to a complete stop. Becomes a hazard on public roads by not being able to keep up with pace of traffic. Shifter may pop out of gear or get stuck into a gear.
